Labor & Postpartum Doula
Birth Assistant
“Natural births are our birthright.” – Unknown
My name is Isha Faye and I’m a labor and postpartum doula. You will also meet me if you work with midwife Delandra.
I began my journey into becoming a doula because of the misrepresentation of Black women when we encounter the medical field. We need more maternity care providers of color, including doulas. Black women share so many stories about not feeling heard by their care providers. The evidence reflects the same as we know the cesarean rate and maternal mortality rate are highest for black women, especially in Georgia. I want to provide aid during pregnancy and the birthing process in the form of support and advocacy. We work together toward a birth experience that meets your goals. Mothers deserve an experience where they feel comfortable and cared for throughout the entire process and postpartum.
I believe the postpartum time should be spent bonding with your child, being provided with warm meals, and rest. I enjoy helping the family with support during that time. As your postpartum doula, my main goals are to offer help with keeping your home tidy and comforting the baby so that mom (and partner) can get much-needed rest.
My love for children began at a very young age. I am now a Registered Behavioral Technician giving 1:1 therapy to autistic children to get them prepared for school. I love providing children with therapy and being an extra support person for families that need an extra set of hands.
I would love the opportunity to be of service to you and your family as your doula!
